Myopia means blurred vision at a distance, but sharp vision up close. It’s caused by an eye that’s too long or a cornea that’s too curved: the image forms in front of the retina. The result? Reading a book, no problem… but recognizing a face in the distance can become difficult.
The good news is that it is possible to slow the progression of myopia through specific treatment, known as Myopia Management. MYOBEE lenses from Eyetech, multifocal lenses and orthokeratology are just some of the effective solutions to consider.
For the manufacture of myopia-braking lenses(Myopia Management), axial length measurement is essential. If your ophthalmologist does not offer this service, we can take the measurement for you.
Hyperopia causes blurred near vision, and sometimes blurred far vision. It is linked to a slight anomaly in the shape of the eye: too short, or a cornea that is not sufficiently curved. As a result, the image forms behind the retina, forcing the eyes to make a constant effort to see clearly. Over time, this can lead to visual fatigue and headaches, especially at the end of the day.
Glasses that correct farsightedness – sometimes called “resting glasses” – are particularly useful when using screens. For enhanced visual comfort throughout the day, we recommend the proBalance filter, which provides effective protection against blue light.
Astigmatism blurs both near and far vision. It is caused by an irregular curvature of the cornea, which distorts images. Contours appear blurred or split. The good news is that astigmatism is easily corrected with glasses or contact lenses.
Presbyopia generally occurs between the ages of 40 and 45, making it more difficult to focus up close. This natural phenomenon is due to the aging of the crystalline lens, which gradually loses its flexibility. Are you reaching for your phone? Perhaps it’s time to consider a correction.
Are you hesitating to switch to progressive lenses because of the sensation of pitching? Try ICONIC lenses from Eyetech: an advanced technology that minimizes the undesirable effects often associated with conventional progressive lenses.
