Myopia

Myopia means blurred vision at a distance, but sharp vision up close. It’s caused by an eye that’s too long or a cornea that’s too curved: the image forms in front of the retina. The result? Reading a book, no problem… but recognizing a face in the distance can become difficult.

Hyperopia

Hyperopia causes blurred near vision, and sometimes blurred far vision. It is linked to a slight anomaly in the shape of the eye: too short, or a cornea that is not sufficiently curved. As a result, the image forms behind the retina, forcing the eyes to make a constant effort to see clearly. Over time, this can lead to visual fatigue and headaches, especially at the end of the day.

Astigmatism
